All mailbox customers are given access and are authorized to use the SMTP relay server for sending outgoing messages.
What's It For? Verizon offers a variety of Managed Electronic Messaging Services for government customers. These include offerings such as individual mailboxes for dial-up access subscribers or designing complex electronic messaging solutions for government organizations. In addition, Verizon's managed electronic services support interoperate with all LAN-based (local area network) e-mail systems (e.g., Lotus Notes) that our customers may currently be utilizing.
How You Benefit Verizon possesses a state-of-the-art Internet messaging environment that provides highly reliable mailboxes. We use "high availability" platforms arranged in a redundant configuration to increase reliability in the managed electronic messaging services environment. This configuration provides access in the event one of a server failure, until a backup unit can be brought online or the failed server is recovered.
